    Stage History

Aside from the stage history which is contemporaneous with publication of the text, An Humorous Dayʼs Mirth does not have a professional full production history. This edition has been informed by three staged readings: by staff and students at the Shakespeare Institute in 2003; as part of the Shakespeareʼs Globe ‘Read Not Deadʼ staged reading series on 6 September 2009 in London; and during a day of workshops with professional actors directed by Brian Woolland, which culminated in a full reading of the play at Oxford Brookes University in May 2012. All three of these staged readings contributed towards exploring and text as a dramatic script in the preparation of this edition.
