Critical Companion
A collection of newly commissioned essays on topics relevant to the study of early English drama and culture will be launched as a Critical Companion to the Digital Renaissance Editions. Like the editions at the heart of the project, the contents of the Critical Companion will be subjected to rigorous peer review.
Contributors will range from established authorities to emerging scholars in the fields of literary studies, textual studies, bibliography, theatre history, performance studies, cultural history, intellectual history, and early music, among others. Multimedia content will enrich the essays where possible.
The contents of the Critical Companion will be divided into sections individually introduced and edited by one or more Section Editors. Each section will also include a survey of relevant electronic resources. Section Editors and academics to serve as an editorial board will be approached in 2017–18. Proposals from potential contributors are welcomed.
